Unfortunately, this came at the expense of losing some very important search rankings and this is where you are probably losing some business. However, all isn't lost. There are many ways to turn this thing around and to your advantage. Here are some tips:

Make sure you have enough text on your pages. Most (about 95%) of the shopping cart software I've seen so far all suffer the same problem: it seems that you simply can't add enough descriptive text on the products and features pages and this is a big problem for the search engines. Less text = lower rankings = lower sales from your site visitors. Read the booklet or instructions on the eCommerce software that you purchased or contact the company and ask them how and where you can write more text on your pages to bring your rankings back up to where they were before.
