In fact, about a year ago, I've written an article on the correct way to move a website from one server to another. That article is still as valid today as it was then. You can still read it here.

Question -- Serge, is there any CMS (Content Management Software) in particular you recommend? I know you don't like CMS packages, but my boss wants to implement one, so I don't have any choice. Maybe I will have him read your answer to this question! Thanks.

Answer -- By all means, please do. You're right-- I don't like CMS packages-- All of them! The simple reason to this is I still haven't found one yet that is search engine-friendly. On top of all the CMS programs I've tried in the past three years, I've even went as far as writing to some of the vendors of CMS software, and there are many of them! I either got no response from them or I had the occasional sales rep call me up and telling me their programs are the best since slice bread! If you read some frustration here you're right! To me, if a CMS isn't search engine-friendly, I automatically discard it as useless.
