Whether you are using an in-house solution your company developed, or if you are using a third-party solution, carefully measuring your results could make or break your online ad budget. Independently of which tracking solution or Web analytics package you use, in the end, you can make your data more valuable and more useful if you follow a few simple steps. Web traffic tracking solutions are also important in order for you to carefully measure your conversion rates. If you have visitors coming to your site but if they aren’t buying, they are not converting. Please click here to continue reading the article.
Google did it again...Released after the close of the markets Thursday, Google's third-quarter earnings results largely surpassed Wall Street analysts' expectations and demonstrated why Google has emerged as Silicon Valley's most valuable company. Google now enjoys a market value of more than $200 billion after just nine years in business. In an analysts' conference call, Google Chairman Eric Schmidt said "we're strong and getting stronger. What I'm most pleased about is that our business model works." Obviously, investors are happy also... Google shares surged to a new high of $658.49 in Friday's morning trading before dropping back to $646.57, up $6.95. Such healthy numbers thrust the Mountain View-based company's market value even further ahead of Cisco Systems' in Silicon Valley's grouping order. By comparison, Microsoft, which started when Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin were still toddlers (!) is now the only high-tech company worth more than the Internet search leader. Well for now at least... Google has reaped the many benefits of running the Internet's most popular advertising network as more marketing dollars shift to the Internet from television, radio, magazines and especially newspapers. At the very same time that all of this is happening, well-known and long-established media companies are greatly suffering! For example, third-quarter advertising revenue at three major newspaper publishers: Gannett Publising Co., McClatchy Co. and Dow Jones & Co. all dropped by a staggering $125 million, or 6 percent, from the same period in 2006. My take on all of this... Where will Google be in 5 or 10 years from now? Of course no one can answer such a question with any reasonable accuracy. But in some cases, history has a tendency of repeating itself... And I have every reason to believe that Google will not only continue to lead, but will also break new boundaries, not just in terms of search, but in areas that today most of us cannot think of, least not yet! Stay tuned for more and more exciting things developing from a company that knows no boundaries... Well, that's it for this week. Have a pleasant and relaxing weekend, I will see you all next Saturday!
