Coming back to your rankings, I really do NOT think that switching from one browser to the next will do anything to harm (or improve) your search rankings (or lack thereof...) But I really strongly believe that ALL browsers (be it IE, Firefox, Netscape, Opera, Safari or any other) are all the same and that the search rankings they display don't come from them but from Google or Yahoo or whatever SE you were working with at that time.

For what I know, you could probably use Lynx (did any of you ever work with that?) and you would maybe get the same results. Internet browsers are just that. From what I know of them, their biggest discrepancies come from the way they handle graphics and photos, not text.
