In relation to the article you wrote in 2003 about googlebot, would you agree or disagree with my assumptions? How do you think googlebot has evolved? As I still see sites with high rankings having keywords highlighted 40 even 50 times on one page, yet they will hold the number one spot on searches that I would never be able to compete with without sinking to tactics that are beneath me. I thought this kind of abuse would hurt ranking rather than help!

GoogleBot, as well as Google as an entity have evolved immensely in the last 2 years. Even though my article was written in 2003, it is still very much valid today, since it details how GoogleBot, Google itself and all the other major search engines work from a generic (or organic) perspective. I hope my anwers have helped you!
