My own research to this point suggest that main site url, page names (filename: mypage.html), Title tag, and meta description tag (not meta keywords) are probably the most important factors combined with keywords being reasonably placed in a way that is not just listed words but within written text that is relevant to the site. I always ask myself is this relevant or am I desperate for ranking? If it stems from desperation I definitely won't use it.

Title tags are important, but don't waste too much time on Meta Tags-- Google dosen't even look at them at all since they've been abused so much in the past.
