The length of any domain name or the number of actual characters in it isn't really a factor. You should always choose a domain name based on the products or services your company sells and make it easy so that your clients will remember it. There are still many people that don't bookmark websites. If your domain name is relatively short, descriptive and easy to remember, it will go a long way compared to a keyword-rich domain that would make it a lot harder for most people to remember.

However, if you can place a keyword or two in it and if you can still make it under fifteen characters, go for it, as long as it's easy to remember and descriptive.

Question -- Serge, I like what you think about search engines in general, however, I think some of them just aren't fair to a small company like mine.
