Question -- Serge what do you think would be a fair price to pay to get my site optimized? I only have 10 pages in it and there's really nothing special about it. The person I'm considering giving the contract to said I need a site map. Is that true? If so, please explain how it could help my site with the search engines. What does a site map do exactly? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Answer -- It's hard for me to tell you a "fair" price since I don't have enough information to go on. You didn't tell me if you operate in a highly competitive field. The higher the competition for the same products or services, obviously the more work it will take on your site. More time spent working on a site has a direct impact on the overall cost to optimize it. As for the site map, it isn't a huge expense, but yes you need it.
