If you read our code of ethics you will readily see that on Article No. 8, we will NEVER accept to optimize a client's site if it directly competes against one of our existing clients or if we feel there will be a conflict of interest in any way. It's written black on white, in plain English! There are no surprises. You know well in advance what to expect.

If the SEO company you are contemplating doing business with cannot or will not provide you with a similar code of ethics, or if they won't insert an equivalent non-compete clause in their contract, then run away from them as fast as you can! Find a professional SEO that will protect you, work in YOUR best interest and have it in writing! You know what lawyers say: words are forgotten easily, but if they are written in a contract, then at least you will have a legal recourse if ever they don't respect their end of the contract at some point down the road.
