Apart from being a lot of work, it is totally futile and there's a number of reasons why... First, did you know that if you change just a filename extension, say from a .htm to a .html or a .php you will lose all PR for that file? This is true. Make the test if you wish. There are many SEOs and webmasters that do this constantly without knowing any better. Such a page won't recover from it's lost PR until Google makes a full PR update again, which may be many months away, depending where you are in the 'PR Cycle' so-to-speak. Here's another reason why it's a bad idea to change filenames and URLs in a site. Say you have an older link to your site that goes like this: http://www.yoursite.com/products.html and that you decide to change it to this: http://www.yoursite.com/bluewidgets.html.
