Yahoo calls this area "Sponsor Results", while Google calls it "Sponsored Links", but to me, they are exactly the same. They are PPC (Per-Per-Click) ads in one form or the other.

Question -- Serge, is it getting a bit easier to get into DMOZ? I've heard from one SEO that it might be but not to hold your breath on it... Please give us an update on it. Thanks.

Answer -- It does seem to be a bit easier to get in DMOZ (or the ODP). Of course, depending to whom you talk to, some will agree and some will disagree. But I can say this: the overall delay our clients experience in getting into DMOZ has been getting shorter over the past 6 to 8 weeks, and this is certainly a welcomed relief.

For those of you that aren't familiar with the Open Directory Project (DMOZ) directory, Google still uses its database to create and replicate its own version of its directory, so yes, a listing in DMOZ will act as a BIG plus for your site's overall rankings. Best of all, it's free, if you can be patient enough to wait between a month or two (sometimes more) to be listed in it. Despite all of this, I still view the ODP as a viable and worthwile project.
