That way, you don't have to manually refresh the page all the time, the site does it for you. It's exactly the same thing with your blog. I don't know where some SEOs ever got that idea from but meta refresh tags are used on large and very promient sites such as demonstrated by the CNN FN example. And there are many more. In fact, I know of at least two prominent SEOs that do it just like you on their own blogs!

Meta Refresh tags are a myth and in fact I should place them on our SEO Myths page since that's all they are: myths. You can sleep in peace on that one, trust me.

Question -- Serge, every once in a while, someone comes up with a "brillant new theory" that debunks all of what we've learned in the past three years! Here's one for 'ya: True or False: Can a site be penalized by the search engines if link farms link to you, but if you don't link back to them? I say no to that, but am I wrong? Thanks.
