But that's not the point I want to make. Whenever I hear SEOs talk about optimizing for just one search engine I cringe! Why would anyone want to optimize for just one search engine when there are at least three big ones that you should be listed in all three of them if you really want to get serious traffic to your site? You've guessed it: these three engines are, and in order of importance: Google, Yahoo and MSN.

If your site is well optimized PERIOD, it will be very visible in those three major search engines and THAT is what really counts as far as I'm concerned. Of course if you can get a good ranking in Ask.com along with a few more such as AltaVista, Hot-Bot and DMOZ, there's nothing wrong with that either. Just don't make Ask.com or any other an obsession. ALL search engines are important!
