Answer -- Writing this newsletter is something that I've always enjoyed doing and I'm thrilled if you like it and if you can benefit from my experience. The formula to determine the right keyword density for any given Web site is two percent. I can already see some of you ask: "What? That's it? Two percent of what?" :-)

Make sure that your keyword density stays below the 2 percent treshold and you will do great. So if you are presently optimizing a particular page that has 500 words in it, make sure that you don't repeat your keywords more than ten times on that page. If you can keep them to just seven or eight it would be even better. Now you know why you need content! If your pages only have about 50 to 100 words in them how are you going to make them highly relevant and well optimized without going over the critical two percent level? It's all in the numbers. If Google or Yahoo sees pages of only a hundred words and keywords that are repeated 20 times (this would be a 20 percent keyword density) there is a very good chance they will 'trash' that page.
