Achieving the right and 'correct' keyword density is one of the most critical aspects of SEO, and happens to be one area where many site owners, Web designers and webmasters can't get right! My 2 percent rule is the easiest and most straightforward rule to follow. If you have 1,000 words in a document, it's ok to repeat the keywords for that page 15 to 18 times without "tripping" Google's spam filters. Just make sure you stay below the two percent density and you will do just fine. Another point that is equally important when writing pages, make sure they are readable! Having the right keyword density is great, but if your pages don't "sound" right, they won't convert into sales. If you want your visitors to buy your product, or sign up for a brochure, or fill out their names for some reason, your pages need to 'flow'. One good technique I use is to read out the page out loud once I've finished writing it. If it dosen't "sound" right to you, it won't to your users also. SEO is great if you can have it, but you need those sales. Ensuring your pages flow well will achieve that important goal.
