Question -- Serge, thanks for a superb and very helpful newsletter! My question has to do with the current Big Daddy update at Google. I know that its a very big and long (read slow) update but do you think that PR (PageRank) is still as important as it used to be? The reason why I'm asking this is, even though Big Daddy isn't completed yet, I'm seeing some PR 4 sites outrank larger PR 6 and even one PR 7 sites. One of the PR 6's happen to be one of my competitors. I still want to increase my PR to at least 6 from the 5 its at now, but what are your views on this? Thank you Serge.

Answer -- I'm happy if you find our newsletter helpful. As I responded to a very similar question we had last week, you are partially right, and partially wrong at the same time. Let me explain: Its true that Big Daddy (BD) isn't over yet. Depending from which Google data center you happen to be checking your site from and the exact time of the day (or night), your rankings may fluctuate wildly and all for the exact same keywords used.
