Question -- Serge, I've read somewhere that if you have more than one language on any given site it will affect its rankings in the SEs. Is that true and if so, why?

Answer -- I don't know where you read that but it is totally false. There are many international sites that have over 7 or more languages on them and they are doing ok with the SEs. Just look at Wikipedia: it has 10 languages you can select from on its homepage and they all seem to be doing ok in the SERPs.
