(Continued) The RFS Newsletter, Jan. 28, 2006. Page 14 Should you pay too much attention to PR (Page Rank)? I've always said (and continue to say) the best test of a site's rankings is in the SERP's (the search engine results pages). I've seen sites with only a PR of 3 outrank sites that has a PR of 6 and even 7 at times. Why? They are simply better optimized! However, if two sites have exactly (or almost exactly) the same kind of organic optimization, but one has a PR of 7 and the other a 3, obviously and in practice the PR 7 will of course outrank the PR 3 site and it certainly makes a lot of sense too. Otherwise, what would be the use of all of this? Nevertheless, I still think site owners and webmasters need to continue increasing the number AND quality of their incoming to their sites and the best way to still do this is to buy or lease links from a reputable link leasing broker. So the question is, how long will it take for your PR to go up? Of course, only Google can answer that question! One thing is certain: don't do anything and you're sure your PR will never improve. Can this negatively impact your site? Yes, if your competitors are acquiring links rapidly and their PR goes up at the next PR update, their site could (and probably will) move ahead of your's.
