Answer -- I'm happy to know our newsletter offers you help. Anchor text is defined as the text on an HTML page that has links in or very close to that text. In a conventional website that follows W3C standards, anchor text is used to display the subject or topic of the page that it links to.

Example: “View our SEO articles section for more information on how to properly optimize your website”. In the above example, the link “SEO articles” would indicate that visitors can expect to see content about SEO articles if they visit that link on the RFS site. As I’ve been saying for many years, search engines look more and more to anchor text as a good indication of page and overall site relevancy. This means it will have a great impact in the rankings of a site, if implemented correctly.

For maximum ranking benefit, you should use this to build the relevance of each page of your site, through optimized anchor text containing important keywords, relevant to the theme of such pages, from other pages of your site. This method has been applied in search engine algorithms to enhance the relevance of the destination URL, for the keywords appearing within the anchor text.
