As for your homepage, you will have to try to 'cover all your bases' so to speak. A homepage is sometimes a bit trickier to optimize for, depending in your industry. A homepage needs to be a 'blend of both worlds'. What I mean by this is, it has to be generic, but at the same time it also needs to focus on two or three of your most important topics that are much more specific and focused. If this sounds a bit more complicated, that's because it is. It's also why I still say that SEO is a science as well as an art! It's a perfect balance, if such a thing exists...
