The problem is that, for all new sites that are launched everyday, unfortunately, they all 'fall' into what the industry has termed the "Google Sandbox Theory" (for lack of a better word). It's only a theory, but with all the detailed analysis and the many observations I've done in the past 18 months, I can tell you that it does make a lot of sense. Google just won't talk about it, of course-- they never do anyway! But in answer to your question, yes: Yahoo does index sites slightly faster than Google, independently if they are new sites or old, they pretty much all get the same treatment.

So, for all you 'Google Afficionados' out there, remember that the great "Yellow and Purple Company" (that's Yahoo!) is still a very important one, and that you should definetely concentrate your energy on it too. On any given day, Yahoo still accounts for about 20 to 30 percent of the overall traffic for the majority of our clients. Thats still a LOT of traffic folks! Hope that helps.

Question -- Serge, thank you for a great newsletter. I've read a bit lately about Latent Semantic Indexing (or LSI) and know a little, but can you give us a bit more insight into it? Thanks Man!

Answer -- I'm real thrilled if you like our newsletter.
